An internal linear intraoral distraction device (distractor) has been innovated to be used for
bone lengthening in atrophic and deformed jawbone. It is made from stainless steel designed
and innovated by the author, bone born, composed of one fixed contoured or prebent bone
adapted plate and one movable plate sliding along 45mm screwed metal rod with smooth
polished cylindrical collar. There is hexagonal extension connected to the cylindrical collar for
activation and distraction of the plates (fixated to the bone segments) by the use of external
screw driver so that the distractor provides distraction length/2turns equals 1mm bone
legthening (Figs1,2).
