The objective is to utilize the huge amounts of olive stones waste generated from olive food industries in production of activated carbon, which finds many uses in different industries.
The produced activated carbon was characterized using different tools of analyses to prove its successful preparation. Most important are surface characteristics, which showed surface area ranged from 351 to 993 m2/g and pore size ranged from 0.28 to 0.61 cm3/g.
The produced activated carbon was successfully tested in removal of heavy metals from water.
